Interesting variation on the Frenchman Karr's observation, "plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose."

I think often about the trees I've planted and those I've dismissed and those I've bothered to try to save.

How much should we intervene, and when does intervention cross the line to interference?

I like trees.

I could stand a bi-weekly car-wash because of their pollen and sap and detritus, but joy does hang in the balance. There is multi-sensory joy to be found in a pollen releasing, sap-spitting, debris-dropping tree.

I feel sad for your loss.

I imagine that a short time spent examining the lawn under the lost tree might reveal some seeds, germinated or still waiting to germinate, depending on species and timing. Finding one and planting or transplanting it might feel good.

I guess it is life but i think its a blessing in disguise can you imagine what life would be like if it was so regid and the same all the time. Yes, trying to make you see the half full side of the glass, is it working?
