Life Questions...
A number of questions that keep me distracted at all the wrong moments, sometimes in my waking hours, sometimes in my dreams and delusions, sometimes in that strange and wonderful worlds between waking and sleeping, when "reality" fades and intuition takes over...
- Why are aardvarks so unappreciated?

- Why is the sky blue, and not another colour?

- Why do plants live for such a short time, but manage to regenerate whilst humans whither away to dust after their alotted time?

- Are societies intentional, accidental or statistical forms of interaction between individuals?

- If I keep my eyes closed, will the universe still be there when I open them?

- If I keep my eyes open, will the universe remain comprehensible when I learn new things?

- Is reality something I invent in my own mind or is it projected on to me by the environment in which I live?

- What is reality?

- What is a universe?

- Who am I?

- Who are you?

Keep well...

Is the Middle East really in the middle?
Well, the question relating to the colour of the sky is pure physics actually. It is based on the frequency of the lightwave and the particles in the sky...
Anyhow, these questions are the reason why I like scifi. They try to play with these life questions, trying to show that if you altered some very elementary things, maybe the universe would be so totally different... And even if those things changed, does it changed who we are?
Liesl, I agree it is pure physics there, but that still does not answer the why-s behind it, such as why are the elements as they are? I for one think both science and scifi, interesting as they are, can only give the illusion of finding answers to questions. They can only go so far.
And at certain times, when no one else or nothing else answers a certain question, the answer is held within us or beyond anything we can reach with our understanding and/or imagination.
Who are you? You are. Who am I? I am. What is the universe and reality - an illusion
:-)
I just saw the Picasso exhibit at the San Francisco MOMA - somehow this is a fitting post for the images I took in this afternoon.
Did you know that aardvark is one of the few words Afrikaans contributed to English?
"Is reality something I invent in my own mind or is it projected on to me by the environment in which I live?"
Yeah, that one gets me all the time.
I always have these sorts of questions take over at night when I've foolishly taken a multi-vitamin.
Nobody is awake to answer them, either.
Been missing our visits.
Loved the pictures.
Let me know when you get some answers.
Of course, I won't know whether or not to believe you, but I choose to believe you're real, so let's just put a period on that question.
Why do we love life?
I love life.
And Bart.
Where is he?
I'll second that: Where is Bart?
